A. What you consent to
You consent to the processing of your personal data by the data controller to the extent and for the purposes mentioned below. Pursuant to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we are obligated to meet the requirements set out below.

3. Why and on what legal bases do we process your personal data?
a. We only process and store your personal data for the purpose of planning and carrying out the events you have been invited to. We may also process them to prepare similar Senate events in the future.
b. We process your personal data based on your consent as provided for in Art. 6(1) letter (a) GDPR and/ or to pursue our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1) letter (f) GDPR.
4. What type of personal data do we process?
We process the following categories of personal data: name, first name, address, email address and possibly other contact data such as your telephone number if you provide or have provided them to us.

5. Who receives your personal data?
Your personal data will be shared with the Hamburg Senate Chancellery [Senatskanzlei] and other entities of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg involved in the preparation and hosting of the event with exclusive limitation to the purposes set out above under item 3 a.

6. For how long do we keep your personal data?
We will erase your personal data after the event unless we retain them to enable us to pursue our legitimate interests (see item 3 b above) as well as to contact you should the Senate hold similar events in the future. Your rights as set out in item 7 below remain unaffected. As we are not permitted to retain personal data indefinitely, we will check at regular intervals whether we are obligated to erase your personal data if the original purpose no longer applies.

7. Your rights
You have the following rights:
a. Right to withdraw your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time. We will then stop processing your personal data. You can either call us or send us an email to We may ask you to prove your identity. Upon receiving your withdrawal notice, we must stop processing your personal data and erase them without undue delay. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data based on consent before its withdrawal. Please note that once we erase your personal data, you will not be invited to any future events held by the Senate.
b. Right of access
Pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR you have the right to obtain from the data controller access to your personal data.
c. Right to rectification
You have the right to obtain from the data controller without undue delay the rectification of any inaccurate personal data (Art. 16 GDPR).
d. Right to erasure
You have the right to obtain from the data controller without undue delay the erasure of any personal data (Art. 17 GDPR).
e. Right to object

By participating in the aforementioned event you consent to the taking of photographs or recording of videos in the course of the event and consent to their publication in (social) media to inform the public of events held by the Senate and/or the Mayor.
